10 Films To Watch On Your Next Girls Night

Hello, and welcome back to my blog! I can’t believe this is my first post in October, this year is absolutely FLYING by! As the nights are getting colder and darker, it’s the perfect time of year to invite all of your girlfriends over for a movie night which is why today, I’m going to share my list of 10 films to watch on your next girls night. There’s nothing I enjoy more than sitting down and watching a good film and these are some of my favourites that are perfect for girls night! So, let’s get to it!

Mean Girls

This is the ultimate chick flick so of course, it had to be top of my list! I feel like every girl growing up in the 2000s has seen this film! Written by the hilarious Tina Fey, it’s no surprise that Mean Girls is one of the most quotable films ever! After not watching the film for a long time, it’s quickly become one of my favourites again thanks to the new musical based on the film. I watched the bootleg of the musical and decided to watch the film to compare and I was reminded just how funny the film is. I think it’s one of those films that will always be relevant which I guess is good for the film but maybe not so good for society!

If you’re a Mean Girls fan, you’ll know that October 3rd is Mean Girls day (which is tomorrow) and this year it happens to fall on a Wednesday so you know what that means! It’s basically the law wear pink on this particular Wednesday!

Mamma Mia

With Mamma Mia being my all-time favourite film AND a musical, it just had to be included on this list! For me, it’s the absolute feel-good film and always makes me happy. What could be better than watching this with your girls and having a sing-along?

Legally Blonde

The first time I watched Legally Blonde, I was probably about 10 years old. When I finished watching it, I went and announced to my mam that I had decided I wanted to be a lawyer because Elle was blonde and loved pink just like me. Now, of course, 12 years later, that plan didn’t exactly work out for me –  not that I’ve ever attempted to become a lawyer! Like Mean Girls, the film is full of fab quotes and the cast is great, led by the incredible Reese Witherspoon. I love the message of the film and it just shows that you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to no matter what anyone else says!

Bridget Jones

Bridget Jones is one of those classic rom-coms that’s perfect for a girls night! Bridget is such a relatable character and it’s always entertaining to watch the situations she gets herself into and it’s got Colin Firth and Hugh Grant, what more does a girl need?

Along Came Polly

Jennifer Aniston is of my favourite actresses which is one of the reasons I love Along Came Polly which probably why it’s my joint-favourite film with Mamma Mia. I think it’s a really underrated film because I don’t think I know anyone else who’s even seen it which is a shame because it’s a great film!

Pitch Perfect

That’s right, there’s another musical on the list, are you surprised? For me, Pitch Perfect is the perfect mix of comedy and music which is why I enjoy it so much. It’s got such a great cast with Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and the rest of the Bella’s and the songs are all so catchy (except for that one they sing two or three times in competitions that always makes me want to shoot myself in the foot!).

Bridesmaids

Bridesmaids is probably the funniest film on this list with arguably the most comedic cast that’s ever been put together in a film. Everyone in the film is brilliant, you’ve got Rebel Wilson again, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Rose Byrne and of course, Melissa McCarthy. It’s the perfect film for girls night because of that cast of awesome women!

Bride Wars

I adore Bride Wars, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson are so great together! I love watching how the characters try and sabotage each other’s weddings with blue hair dye and orange spray tans! Oh, and Kate Hudson’s wedding dress in this film is my absolute dream, it’s so gorgeous!

The Princess Diaries

Another Anne Hathaway film but this time she’s starring with the absolute queen (of the world, not just Genovia), Julie Andrews. I love both Princess Diaries films so if I were to watch this on a girls night, I’d definitely do a double feature. Mostly so that I could watch Mia tell the queen to shut up and then see the queen mattress surfing! And of course, Princess Diaries 2 has Chris Pine so… what more reason do you need?

17 Again

Last but not least on this list is 17 Again. I haven’t seen this film in so long, I really need to watch it soon! I absolutely had to include a Zac Efron film on this list because what’s a girls night without a bit of Zac? That’s really the only reason this film is on the list, to be honest, but it’s still a great film!

I hope you enjoyed this list of 10 films to watch on your next girls night! If you did, please share it with the buttons below! I’d love to know the films you’d recommend for a girls night so let me know in the comments!
