Guest Post ~ 5 Things to Do with Your Extra Hour of Daylight

I’m feeling quite lucky to be able to post this today because I’ve been ill for the past week and haven’t had the energy to write my own post so today’s post is a guest post from Amy Mia Goldsmith.

Spring has finally arrived, and if you wonder what to do with an extra hour of daylight we’ve got, just stay with us and keep on reading. Here are five amazing activities that will make you happy, so check them out and give them a try this spring!

Start taking yoga classes

Everyone knows that this ancient Hindu practice has numerous health benefits, but have you actually considered taking yoga classes? If the answer is yes, you should definitely do it right now, as an extra hour of daylight will help you experience yoga at its finest. It’s a great choice for people of all athletic abilities, so you don’t have to worry even if you’re a novice at working out.

Besides that, yoga is also appropriate for both men and women of all ages, as it can improve their overall physical and mental health condition. This healthy habit is also likely to improve your flexibility, perfect your posture, and relieve anxiety, which is highly required if you’re under a lot of stress on a daily basis. Trust us, you won’t make a mistake if you start taking yoga classes!

Find a hiking trail near your home and go for a long hike

Contrary to popular belief, there’s a huge difference between hiking and walking, even though these two words apparently refer to the same form of exercise. Of course, the scenery and footwear may vary, while lower-body mechanics seem the same, but you know what? These two are radically different, and experts claim that your heart, joints, and muscles perform differently during these two

Finding a hiking trail and going for a long hike is highly beneficial as it recruits different muscles due to uneven ground, and it’s a fantastic way to strengthen the muscles in the lower part of your body which can’t be the case with walking only. However, you should make sure not to get injured, as missteps can sometimes lead to sprained knees ankles.

Go cycling in nature

Cycling is another extremely beneficial activity you can go for on a sunny day, and it should be your number one choice no matter if you want to lose some weight, improve your health, or be more environmentally friendly. It gets even better because you’ll have a chance to relax and spend more time in nature, which is essential these days, when we generally don’t have too much time just for

Of course, appropriate equipment is essential – a good bike in the first place – so make sure you have one before you decide to go cycling. Besides that, you should also check out Alpinestars protective gear and get quality gloves and knee braces which will prevent any potential injuries and help you stay safe on the road.

Become a member of your local gym and work out regularly

If you’re one of those people whose New Year’s resolution was to start working out regularly, you should know that now is the time to make that happen! So, find a local gym that perfectly suits your needs and become more physically active on a daily basis. Apart from the actual workouts, your pre-workout routine also plays a major role in the overall process, so make sure you fuel your body with proper ingredients. If you need your daily dose of fitness motivation and explosive pre-workout energy, you should definitely check products that contain significant amounts of caffeine – a quite powerful stimulant that can keep you energized during your workout, no matter how intense it may be. Just give them a try and you’ll see a huge difference!

Walk your dog

Spending quality time with your furry friend is truly precious, so you should certainly put that extra hour of daylight to good use and take your dog for a long walk every day. It’s beneficial for both you and your dog, as it can reduce your stress levels and improve your overall health. Some studies have shown that people who own a pet have higher levels of oxytocin, the so-called feel-good chemical, which shouldn’t surprise you at all simply because our pets really do make us much more joyful and content. So, take your beloved pet for a walk after a long day at work, and you’ll instantly feel much better!

As you can see, there are a lot of fabulous ways to enjoy an extra hour of daylight we’ve got, so be sure to use it wisely and do something good for yourself. Doing yoga, going for a long hike, riding a bike, working out at the gym, and walking your dog are just some of the highly beneficial activities, so give them a try and you’ll see a fantastic improvement!
