Blogger Love: Megan (Anxious To Adventure)

Welcome to another edition of Blogger Love! Today, I will be featuring Megan from Anxious To Adventure. I ask everyone who wants to be featured in Blogger Love to answer a few questions so that we can get to know them and their blog so let’s all get to know Megan a little better!

Tell us a bit about you and your blog.

I’m Megan. I graduated from university in Manchester in July 2017 and after 4 years I left the bright lights of the city and moved back to the countryside. My blog, Anxious to Adventure, focuses on travel, or at least my travels.

Why did you start blogging?

Whenever I go on holiday, for as long as I remember, I have kept a holiday diary. I absolutely love going back and seeing what we did. I enjoy writing so decided to start ‘Anxious to Adventure’ around September 2017. It has since become a bit of a hobby for me, and something to focus on outside ‘normal’ work.

What’s your favourite thing about blogging?

I’ve found that since starting my blog, especially one focused on travel, I have a greater desire to go out and do more/see more. It might sound cliched but thinking about the different content that I would like to create has made me realise just how much I want to experience those things. It has also become a sort of ‘journal’ for me too – it’s great being able to relive a holiday or a trip because it’s right there on the blog.

What’s your least favourite thing about blogging?

It can be disheartening when you spend time on a post and you struggle with engagement. I also think that it can be quite easy to put pressure on yourself to post a certain amount/ at a certain time. I’ve done that so many times, I haven’t finished a post in time for when I wanted to publish it but then I think ‘so what’ because I would rather produce quality content rather than sticking to a schedule. If it’s a day late but a better post then surely it’s worth it.

Tell us about your favourite blog post.

It’s not the most glamorous destination, but I’m really proud of my Norfolk (UK) post. I enjoyed writing it and am really proud of the pictures that I took during that trip too.

Describe your blog in three words.

Personal, travel, easy-reading (I hope!)

What do you do when you’re not blogging?

I wish I could tell you that it’s something super glamorous like nipping off for European mini-breaks or flying to exotic destinations, but you’re most likely to find me taking pictures of my dog whilst watching re-runs of Friends.

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Ahh – this is so tricky. Pizza – is that cliched? I make a mean Enchilada but for the rest of my life? Sushi…oh I just can’t choose!

What would be your perfect day?

I love spending time with my family so perhaps being on holiday with my family – with a lot of sunshine!!

What’s your top tip for getting traffic to your blog?

Engagement is key! Engage with other bloggers, spend some time following, reading, commenting (such as a follow train). It’s a great way to see what other content is out there, maybe you’ll find some blogs that you love. Support others and they will support you. Also…I’ve seen this bit of advice floating around and I 100% agree. BE YOURSELF. Don’t post what you think people want to see, post what you want to write about. Don’t try to be your favourite blogger because that spot has already been filled. Be inspired but be authentic…you’ll do so much better if you do.

I hope you all enjoyed getting to know Megan through those questions! Don’t forget to check out her blog Anxious to Adventure. If you want to follow Megan on social media, you can do so on Twitter and Instagram.
