Life/Blog Update

As you may know, I have been on a 16-week placement at Citizens Advice which will sadly be ending on Thursday. Until I manage to get a new job, I will have lots more time to work on posts. I thought today, I would do a little reflection of my time at Citizens Advice along with a sort of life/blog update.

Reflecting on my Time at Citizens Advice

Back in October after about 6 months of job hunting and interviews, I managed to get myself on a work placement at Citizens Advice. I was over the moon about this because it was a chance to gain some experience I was seriously lacking AND getting paid at the same time. I have loved my time at Citizens Advice although and I’m so sad it’s come to an end. The last 16-weeks has flown by and I’m so thankful for the confidence I’ve gained. I am more comfortable speaking with clients face-to-face and over the phone and I’ve learnt some valuable admin skills which I can take with me to whatever I do next.

I have decided to stay at Citizens Advice for two days a week as a volunteer to gain further experience. There’s no point in wasting time being bored at home all day and who knows what may come from just staying two days a week! I’m not ready to leave yet! I’ve made some friends which I didn’t really expect to happen so I hope that we are able to stay in contact when I leave.

Blog Update

I have FINALLY found a schedule for my blog that I’m happy with! There hasn’t been a set schedule for a while but I’ve decided that I will post every Tuesday. I will be doing the same posts that I usually do and there may be an extra post some weeks, depending on what I’ve got going on. I’m very excited about the next couple of weeks because I’m going to see 4 shows which means that there will be some reviews coming! The shows I’m seeing are The Band, Strictly Live Tour, Flashdance and the Sister Act Live Choir.

As you may have seen from a previous post, I have started my own Blogger Showcase called Blogger Love! I’m super excited about it so in addition to my Tuesday posts, I will also be showcasing a different blogger every Friday. I have a waiting list up to March but I’m always taking submissions so if you want to be featured, you can find out how here.

Life Update

As well as changed in my work life and my blog life, there have also been changes in my personal life! The first being… I cut my hair! It was down to my waist and now it’s just below my shoulders. My hair desperately needed a cut because it was always breaking and the ends were getting super thin and really, it just got in my way. In 2018, my goal is to take better care of my hair because I want it to grow long again but for it to be healthy this time. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for hair maintenance then please let me know!

As well as having my hair cut, I’m also in the process of re-decorating my room. I’m making it Harry Potter themed and it’s the first time since I’ve been choosing my own bedroom colours it’s not pink! When it’s all done, I will definitely be doing a bedroom tour to show you guys.

That’s it for this week’s post! Don’t forget to come back for Blogger Love which kicks off on Friday!

Thanks for reading, Em xo

Hey Em! I came across your blog on Social Spying thanks to Steph and I just wanted to say what an awesome blog you have. I love the design and layout.
It must be a dramatic change to get your hair cut like that! I’m in that phase where my hair isn’t short enough or isn’t long enough so it’s just meh :/ I’m going to try and grow mine out so that I can donate it to the Rapunzel charity next time!

Hey Marian! Thank you so much for your kind words! My hair is a little shorter than I would have liked. When I had it cut short I wanted to donate it but I did it kind of spur of the moment… There’s always next time!

I just had a super quick look at your blog and we’re the same age and Harry Potter fans! I’m a Hufflepuff. I’ll definitely take a better look when I get a chance!
