Blogmas Day 15: Reflecting on 2017

Welcome to day 15 of my 24 days of Blogmas! We’re officially past the 2-week mark and only have a week and a bit left. If I’m being honest, I’m starting to struggle with ideas so for today, I’ve decided to write a post that I was planning to write towards the end of the year (close to New Years) but why not post it now? In this post, I’ll be reflecting on 2017.

2017 has been a year where my life has changed so much. As you may or may not know, back in July, I graduated from University with a degree in Event Management which was a massive achievement but it also meant that for the first time, I wasn’t in any form of education. It was the strangest feeling not knowing what was going to happen. For the first time in my life, I didn’t have a plan for when September rolled around. I finished uni in May and from then until October, I was unemployed and trying to find a job, thankfully, I found one! The sad thing is, it’s only a 16-week placement so come mid-January, I may be unemployed again. I’ve continued to find a job but so far, I’m not having any luck. At the moment, I’m just making the most of the opportunity I’ve been given which I’m now absolutely loving!

Aside from the worry and stress of finishing uni and finding a job, 2017 has been incredible. I’ve been able to tick a few things off my bucket list including zip-lining and meeting Kevin, Karen and Joanne Clifton who I just adore so much! I also visited FriendsFest for the first time with my friend Abigail (she has a blog too so go check it out here!). I also went on holiday to Lake Garda which is somewhere I’ve wanted to go for about 8 years and it was beautiful! While I was there, I visited Verona (pictured below) for the day and it was possibly my favourite city that I’ve ever been to. It was just gorgeous and I got to see Juliet’s balcony.

Another thing that happened in 2017 which I’ve been wanting to do for a while now is starting a blog (find out why here). I’m enjoying blogging so much and I’ve made a few great blogging friends and I can’t wait to make more in 2018! Although I really love blogging and I’m super happy with how it’s been going so far, (especially on my old blog), but with this one, I’m nowhere near where I want to be with it and I have so much work to do. I’m really looking forward to setting my 2018 blogging goals which I’ll be posting in a couple of weeks.

2017 has been packed with so many memories and achievements and it may have been my best year so far, I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings in my work life, my blogging life and my personal life.

Thanks for reading, Em xo
