Review: New Look Beauty Products

Today I’m going to be telling you about all of the New Look beauty products I’ve tried and which ones are my favourites. I absolutely love the products in New Look, from my experience, they work really well and are super affordable. Before I get started, I should tell you that this post is not sponsored by New Look BUT the links are affiliate links which means I will get a commission if you purchase the products linked below or if you make a purchase by entering the website by clicking on the banner to the right of this page. You can read more about affiliate links in my disclaimer page here. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, let’s get started!

1. Detox Tea Tree Purifying Face Mask

This is by far my favourite New Look product and the one I use most regularly. It’s so easy to use and it’s amazing. As you can see from the title, it’s a face mask but it also exfoliates your face. I have quite sensitive skin and my face is also very oily and this product cleans my face and leaves it feeling super smooth and refreshed. I use it once or twice and to apply it, I squeeze the bottle around my face and then rub it in and then leave it for about 20-30 minutes. I used to squeeze a dollop onto my fingers and rub it in but it left such a mess in between my fingernails and by applying it straight to my face I can control where it goes a little easier (it always gets in my hair😂). This product only costs £4.99 and I think it’s such good value for money because although the tube is only 75ml, it lasts quite a while because you only need a bit everytime you use it.

2. Strawberry Exfoliating Body Scrub

I’ve been using this exfoliator for a little while now and my favourite thing about it is the smell. It smells amazing and it’s pink so that’s even better! I don’t use this as much as I probably should which is why I haven’t seen much of a difference but I do really love that it makes my skin feel super clean! At the moment it’s on sale for £2 which is amazing but even without the sale, it’s only £3.99 which is still such a good price! I don’t know for certain how much is in the tube but I think it’s 150ml.

3. Erase Nail Polish Remover Pen

About 2 weeks ago I bought this product and I’ve only used it a couple of times but it’s super useful. If you’re a regular here, you probably know I really love painting my nails but my biggest problem is that I almost always get the nail varnish on the skin around my nails so when I saw this product I had to try it. It’s super easy to use and it works but only on the skin. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be able to remove your polish from your nails but for me, it didn’t work but I wouldn’t usually use it on nails so I don’t really mind that. It’s super useful for cleaning up mistakes and I like that it comes with extra tips so that you don’t need to buy a new pen straight away. It costs £3.99 which, like the other products, is super affordable.

4. 10 Pack Cuticle Sticks

At £1.99 I don’t think you can really go wrong with these cuticle sticks. They are double ended so one of the ends has a sort of nail file feel to it and the other side is just wood. Also, on the wood side, some of them are thicker and some are more like toothpicks. I didn’t realise this when I used them and just happened to pull out a toothpick type one and I just assumed they were all the same but since taking a closer look at them I can now see that there are different types in there. Personally, I would prefer them all to be thicker because as I was using it to push my cuticles back it was sometimes quite painful because of the thin sharp end so next time I’ll make sure I pull out a thicker one. I don’t think I would buy these again because I would prefer them all to be thick and I don’t like the nail file end either but it might be useful for someone else so I would probably still recommend this product.

5. Blush Spritz 150ml
I bought this spray for £3.74 (it’s usually £4.99 but the fragrance products were 25% off) and it smells amazing! I really wanted a body spray I could carry around in my bag but so many of them are made of glass and I wouldn’t feel safe carrying it around in case it broke so when I saw this I had to get it. It’s a plastic bottle and it had a top (some of them didn’t) so it was perfect for just throwing in my bag. I really love the colour on the packaging too, it’s a sort of rose gold colour which I love. This is available in one or two other scents so you could choose which one you prefer which I think is great.

6. Detangle Comb
At the time of writing this, I’ve only used the comb once and it kind of worked. I never use combs because I much prefer brushes and I had a detangle brush but I lost it so when I saw this for £2.99, I had to try it. When I used it, my hair had a few tangles in it as I’d worn it down all day and hadn’t brushed it since the morning and the comb didn’t get the tangles out as easy or pain-free as my detangle brush but it did work after a little while. The real test will be combing my hair after I’ve washed it. I can never get a brush through it after that so I just hope the comb doesn’t break but it feels quite thick and strong so it should be fine. My favourite thing about this comb is the colour. It’s a rainbow chrome (thank you simply nailogical for educating me on magical colours). I love rainbows and colours so this was perfect for me.

*EDIT: since writing this I’ve used the comb a couple of times on wet and dry hair and it definitely works better on dry hair but you do need to go over it again with a brush because the comb is so wide it does miss a lot of hair. And for wet hair, I would say use a brush first to get most of the tangles out and then use the comb for the last couple of knots.

That’s it for my review on the New Look beauty products I’ve tried, I’m hoping to get some more products at some point so let me know if you want me to write another post like this in the comments below. Also, let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what you think of them!

Thanks for reading, Em xo
