Guest Post from Paige: 5 Most Inspiring Females From Disney

I’m super excited about today’s post because it’s the first guest post to my blog and it’s by Paige from Books and Belle. You can check out my guest post ‘5 Most Inspiring Harry Potter Females’ but read Paige’s post first! Here it is:

This post will include the female characters that are, in my opinion, the most inspiring. It’s
definitely going to be a challenge to choose only five, as there are so many!

1. Belle
I think it’s fairly obvious from my blog name that Belle is my favourite Disney character. She
is the one who inspires me the most, and she has done since I was a little girl. She’s the first
character I saw myself in in terms of personality. She was a bookworm, didn’t care for boys
who weren’t worth her time (Gaston) and was selfless and kind. These were all
characteristics I admired in her, and ones I still do. She saw inner-beauty and didn’t fall for a
nice face like some of the earlier princesses. She also saves herself and makes sacrifices for
her father. She’s the type of character I love, she’s curious about the world and sees real
value in knowledge.

2. Mulan
Mulan isn’t my favourite character, but she certainly deserves a spot on this list. She is one
of the first characters that taught me that women were just as capable as men are. She’s
strong-willed, independent and loyal to even those who don’t have enough faith in her. I
think she’s a brilliant role model for young girls, and I’m thankful to this day for the lesson
she taught me.

3. Alice
What inspires me about Alice is her kindness. She doesn’t even know the other characters
when she falls into Wonderland, yet she puts her all into helping them anyway, which I
believe is very admirable. There is a lesson to be learnt from Alice, and that is to be careful
what you wish for.

4. Merida
There is so much I love and am inspired by when it comes to Merida. She’s not the perfect
princess, she has crazy (but wonderful!) hair, she doesn’t act the way one would expect a
princess to act, instead, she is herself, and she is powerful and doesn’t take crap from

5. Esmerelda
Esmerelda isn’t one of the most famous Disney characters, and she is definitely underrated.
She is another selfless character, she helps others to realise their worth and she just has so
much love to give. The beauty she has on the outside reflects the beauty she has on the
inside, she believes in equality and just is very genuine.
